چکیده
Background: Ureterorenoscopy (URS) and intracorporeal lithotripsy (ICL) is the first-choice treatment for ureteric stones less than 1.5 cm. Various options forintracorporeal exist such as pneumatic, Laser Ultrasonic. Aim: To assess safety efficacy of laser versus pneumatic in treating 1.5cm via Ureterorenoscopy. Methods: A total 182 patients who underwent URS department UROLOGY LRH to were reviewed retrospectively from December 2021-December 2022 after ethical approval. Two groups made on basis type oflithotripsy used (112 (PL) group 70 (LL) group. Stone-free rate (SFR), mean operation time (MOT), hospital stay (MHS), complications evaluated both groups. Results: Mean age LL Patients was 41.1±3.9 years PL 38.2±4.5 years. 68.4% study participants males. had more upper ureter 17 (24.4%). LL's drawbacks outweighed its benefits proximal ureteral calculi. Table 2 outlines postoperative efficacy. Comparing perforations (4.4%), fever (2.9%) mucosal injury (5.7%) with p-value ≥0.05%. patients, an immediate stone-free (93.3%) while stone migration 20(28.6%) a statistically significant (p-value ≤0.05). Practical implication: renal will easily be treated short open surgery. Conclusion: For stones, methods effective safe. However, it's possible that class' SFR higher.. Pneumatic lithotripsy: a new modality for treatment of ureteric stones.
Two hundred and twenty ureteric stones in 214 patients were fragmented intracorporeally by pneumatic lithotripsy under general/regional anaesthesia in a day care set-up. Patients were followed-up weekly and retreatment was done at 4 weeks where necessary. Majority (77%) of patients were in the age group 21-40 years with a male to female ratio of 2:1. Stone location was 86% in the lower third, 1...
متن کاملTreatment of Distal Ureteric Stones-comparative Efficacy of Transureteral Pneumatic Lithotripsy and Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy.
BACKGROUND Ureteric stones greater than 6mm require intervention. Extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) and ureteroscopy (URS) with intra-corporeal lithotripsy (ICL) are two least invasive therapies. Both show acceptable stone clearance. What should be the first line of treatment in distal ureteric stones? We conducted this study to compare the efficacy-of ESWL and pneumatic ICL in order ...
متن کاملUreteroscopic management of distal ureteral stones in children: holmium:YAG laser vs. pneumatic lithotripsy
Results: Their ages ranged from 18 months to 14 years (mean: 8.5 ± 3.5 years). The overall success rate for the holmium:YAG laser lithotripsy (100%) was higher than that of pneumatic lithotripsy (81.8%), but the difference was insignificant (P = 0.087). The complication rate was higher in pneumatic lithotripsy than in holmium:YAG laser lithotripsy (36.4% versus 4%, P = 0.023). Treatment time an...
متن کاملEffectiveness of Flexible Ureterorenoscopy and Laser Lithotripsy for Multiple Unilateral Intrarenal Stones Smaller Than 2 cm
Purpose. To evaluate the safety and efficacy of RIRS for the treatment of multiple unilateral intrarenal stones smaller than 20 mm. Methods. Between March 2007 and April 2013, patients with multiple intrarenal stones smaller than 20 mm were treated with RIRS and evaluated retrospectively. Each patient was evaluated for stone number, stone burden (cumulative stone length), operative time, SFRs, ...
متن کاملOutpatient treatment of middle and lower ureteric stones: extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy versus ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy.
The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the efficacy of ureteroscopic lithotripsy (URSL) and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) in the treatment of middle and lower ureteric stones. From January 1996 to March 1997, 61 patients treated by URSL and 49 patients treated by ESWL were studied, both were conducted as outpatient procedures. URSL using Holmium laser and semirigid u...
